hello

Another friday has come again so quickly...
I thought we were due for spring, I had some flowers up in my yard, little crocuses and then we got snow...
inches of snow...
days of snow...

But it has all melted again now
and I have been working on a mandala (still in progress)

 for my e-class;
Falling Into Mandalas

coming out in July, 2016
You can signup at coursecraft here
 (also still in progress),

and I have been working on little alphabet children
(I can't decide between detailing in pencil.... or pen. Goldie and Tim are pen, and Annie and Meg are pencil.)
.

And I have been working on some fabric too,
for Spoonflower's "Sprout" contest...
they are looking for a fabric that would work well in a Kimono style pattern.

See you soon,

Happy New Year!

These were taken yesterday.
You'd think I was standing in a field or the woods, but I was at McDonalds,
(Yes, they're open on New Year's day)
because my son LOVES McD's fries.
I just focused away from the cars and highways.
And actually I didn't even leave the car,
these were taken with a zoom through an open window.
Are they less pretty now that you know?
My goal and word for the year...
AWE...
so hope you can find awe
 and share it every day!

Eatting last week's words

As soon as you say something, everything changes to prove you wrong.
I said I was done with the falling ladies....
Done...

i haven't felt like painting them in over a year...
then people commented nice things about them...

and i thought, "well i could do them with just one color like I have been doing with my latest mandalas"

Now, I have soooo many ideas for painting falling ladies...

I finished two this week already...
here's the first...

before the 2nd here are a couple photos of my week...
just because....

and a bit more surreal than usual...

Falling with a pig
don't we all do this sometimes?
 wearing pink ribbons?

well, happy paint party friday and hello to everyone at Haiku my heart... both wonderful places to stop by on a friday! see you!

Share the joy and Day 22 and 23

Let's see... I've lost track but I think I'm on day 22 for the 29 faces challenge still one day behind...sorry the photo is again bad, just not enough light this early.... it's just a 3 minute scribble with a red ball point....

This is Shawnee in red... She's a park ranger at a small state park in NY called Stonybrook. She's totally the outdoor nature lover type but if you're playing trivia she's the one you want to pick first for your team as well. She happens to be in love with a man named Frank from pennsylvania, but they only get to see each other weekends due to the distance. He is currently searching for a job closer to NY. Right now he's doing freelance tree cutting and landscaping. They met at an Uncle Kracker concert.

Plus I wanted to share a magical moment this week for Share the Joy, the photo doesn't do the moment justice... It was one of those little moments that just happen and don't really mean anything and not a lot really happens but somehow they're memorable and stay with you for years. I think this was one of those little moments. I was on my way to work and the light was just right, early morning sun through the clouds, with a patch of blue sky ahead, the birch trees looked so white and special, The Band Perry's song, 'walk me down the middle' was playing and I drove into a tiny little snow storm! The kind with big softly falling flakes! And 2 seconds later I drove right out of it, it was maybe 30 yards long, I'm not good with distance but I could look in my rear view mirror and still see it falling just in that one spot, like there was a giant hollywood snow making machine above the clouds churning out big soft snow for a movie set.

Then I drove into another one that lasted just about as long, three more tiny little storms on and off as I went down the road. I was still smiling and replaying that same song in the CD player when the sun went behind clouds, the birches started looking muddy, the snow turned to rain and I ran over an already dead bunny. Yuk! It still didn't take away that magical feeling though and I was still smiling when I got to work!

Hope rocks again!

This is my second post for Hope rocks! In the original post I expalined the idea which comes from Lille Diane, you can click on her picture to the right that says woodstocklilly to see her blog and read how the idea got started. Basically the idea is to share a little surprise of hope by hiding these rocks.

My third rock I put on the desk of a co-worker who needed a little hope to realx about things she is dealing with right now. She says it's helping to squeeze the rock once in awhile.

Rock number 4 got left today on a bench by the lake. I visited Keuka  lake in the snow on my lunch hour and took a few pictures of the cold water and seagulls and the tiny little white rock waiting there on the bench for the first passerby who ventures through the snow down to the water....It's fun to imagine what they might think when they find it!
