another day

yesterday I was playing for a bit in my tiny sketchbook again...

that's the only one I can seem to do anything in this month. But it's a good one to try things out in since the paper is not expensive watercolor. My more expensive sketchbook I can't bring myself to just experiment in, they seem to precious.

one of these just led to another and another....

they are just watercolor crayons and then white acrylic ink...

Have a Happy today!

linking to inspire me monday and creative everyday, both inspiring places to visit.....

I have done it again...

*! SCatteREd creAtiviTY !?*

I keep starting paintings without finishing others, i have at least 10 going I think...in all different styles, i want to use acrylic ink lines over top of these bright watercolors, I wanted to make a looser mandala... then I have also started a bunch more realistic white flowers (i have masked the white out and stopped there) and I am trying to finish up some bird paintings I started last winter, and still writing
...and...and...and...

If you'd rather see something finished I did post The Bee Queen piece monday...you can see it here

Yeah for fridays!

I have another finished acrylic painting to show you this week. This one is bigger. I'd tell you how big but I just don't feel like going to measure it right now. I started with fingerpainting the rosey colored swirls, and just like the other painting of the Great Mother, this Mother just appeared as well. Her hair was even bigger at first, taking up the whole top of the painting but I finally realized that had to be toned down a bit. That was about the only part I struggled with at all.... this was actually a very easy painting to create.

I did however learn that you can't paint over acrylic ink like you can regular acrylic.... even when it's dry it smears into the new color you add. The red and black lines on this are acrylic ink and next time I won't add them until I am sure I am done changing background colors and such.

She is of this earth.
She holds all in her warm arms....
safe... and warm.... and home.
