sharing the joy

I had a wonderful lunch hour in Hammondsport enjoying the Palette's. I have mentioned them before but for those of you that don't know.... about 50 artists each paint a palette povided by the Chamber of Commerce and they are displayed around the village and the lake all summer in front of businesses. Each one has a letter posted by it. You can make it a day trip, travel around the lake see all the great art and collect the letters. If you get them all and put them together into the secret phrase you can win prizes. At the end of the summer, the Chamber auctions them off and the artist gets half of the sale price. I have only made it to see about ten so far. This is my second year participating. I've already posted it but my palette is the last one shown in this post. Enjoy!

bubbles in the backyard

Don't you just love bubbles? My son didn't want to hang aroung while I blew bubbles but he did enjoy swinging into them and making them swirl about. Here's some bubbles today for you to share the joy....

And as I've still got 3 more faces  to go here they are....

The top one fits the theme over at IamtheDiva as I used the tangle, Crescent moon...

Then my last face is actually three. It's the palette I finished for The Hammondsport Auction. The Chamber of Commerce supplies the wooden palette to artists, and it's on display all summer with letters to encourage people to get out and see all the palette's near local businesses. You collect all the letters, figure out what they read and are eligible for prizes. They auction the palettes  off at the end of summer and the artists get half of the sale price. I  want to Share the joy this week with my zentangles. Just like my mandalas from last week (which i do have another of this week), I  can totally loose myself in doing them. With zentangles there are certainly some tangles that fit better together and you can think about balance of light and dark or loose to tight, and I'm sure all sorts of things why this would be better or that.... but the great thing is you don't have to. You can just pick up a pen and do it with almost no thought at all, and it absorbs your thoughts, blocks out your worries and almost always ends up looking great. 

The first and the 3rd,4th and 5th photo are for a challenge at Iamthediva where we were to use the tangle GOLVEN by Mariet. I did it then just kept on making more, i've got 3 or 4 more pges i didn't even get photos of yet. But here's a mandala  I did get done for paint party friday this week and paint and palette...

The palette is a nice new cheap kids set that looks like I hardly used it....

I might be back soon with a goddesss piece for 13 goddessess... not sure if i'll get it done... have a good week!

I'm back...

hello, I've been absent for a few weeks but happy to be back. The first friday a storm took out our internet and last friday our computer died completely... a brand new computer later and... here I am with finally my palette all done. It's been delivered to it's summer home for a few weeks... As almost an afterthought I added five words hidden in the clouds as a finishing touch. They're hard to see...

And haven't needlefelted in the whole time but my daughter made some totally adorable snails!!!
