another fox

I can't believe another week has gone by so fast...
there are finally some signs of spring finally showing in my yard!
I am showing a fox in my sketchbook that I mentioned last week...

and some photos that I took when my husband and I got a day to ourselves, well a half day. We had to go to a CSE meeting for my son (and we got great reports from the teachers and therapists on how well he's doing this year. Especially when he's 13 and puberty normally worsens autistic behaviors. It was wonderful to hear that he is asking for work, learning his alphabet and community workers and even doing great in self care skills that he won't do at home! Yeah!) and so we took the whole day which left us time to ourselves in the morning to shop in a new town.
Well, an old town that I haven't been to in years.
Angelica
If you love antiques, this is the place to go.
I only got into 3 stores and then we ate at the Canteen.
I played in photoshop a bit with the photos taken in the stores....

I always love anything bee related... a I bought the tiniest little fabric bee....
I also bought a little doll, a tiny carved wooden box and some homemade fudge and an amethyst crystal to put on my walking stick this year. No pictures of all that though. Oh, and a wee tiny goddess. I will have to get photos I think of her at least.

It was a lovely day... and lots of other good stuff this week, that I will have to share later.
Happy friday!

a quick sketch

This is not even a note book I sketch in,
it is just a playing card size one I carry in my purse for lists.
(YES... i CAN"T live without lists)
but I got sidetracked while on the phone and started sketching the little fox on my desk and  she ended up looking at a gift.
( I am sure the gift appeared because we had 3 birthdays last week in my house)

playing in my sketchbook

I hadn't put too much in my sketchbook for a long while until the girls and flowers i showed recently.....
then i started doing these....
I put down random blobs of watercolor,
let it dry and drew around what i could see,
not a new idea or anything,
i've seen lots of books or blogs where people do this,
but i hadn't in awhile, and it's sort of addicting and fun.
Plus i end up seeing and drawing things i never would have drawn that way without trying this,
...like this little fox.
He showed up in green, sort of fox-like but not really.
so then i tried him again on a paint chip named marigold.
So now I have this character, Marigold, the fox. I like him...

Happy paint party friday and hello all at Artists Play room! and hello to the creative everyday people!

my little altar

I have a little spot next to my desk at work.
I don't call it an altar to the people who pass by when they question my stuff,
But I think that's what it is...

filled with tiny bits
collections, dreams and big thoughts
flotsam and jetsam

when I go out collecting, stuff ends up here...

sometimes I arrange it for photos...

sometimes I sketch it...

I bought that little wishing pot on vacation this summer at an artisan gallery, It had the best tag... I'd quote it but I lost it somewhere along the way. It listed all the things you could keep inside... stuff like secret wishes, imaginary toys, hopes and dreams, fairy dust,........ and I really wish I hadn't lost that tag.  The pot also came with a fortune inside that you couldn't read till you had purchased it, and it was only like $3.00 I think. A DEAL! I have added some secrets to it but there's still room for lots more....

Happy PPF & Haiku my heart!

Not too much to say this week...
Busy, busy, busy,
glorious weather lately her in NY
I am on Day 5 of a juice fast
juicing fresh fruits and veggies 3 times a day with tea in between...
I am not hungry at all but I still daydream of food I am missing.
Lost 5 pounds already...
I plan to do it for 10 days...
all because I clicked on a free movie on the internet called "fat, sick and nearly dead"
The man who made it  is very inspiring...
Don't click on it unless you want to be taken in...
he's selling juicers but I didn't buy a juicer
I bought his inspiration instead...
free...
see you all next week...
