Illustration Friday-winter

This is my first submission for illustration friday. Hopefully a habit I will continue... Winter is the perfect theme to start with as I've been doing falling ladies in winter for a little while now, can't explain why they have nothing on but socks and scarves and hats.
This one is available in my etsy shop and is titled "Warm woolen mittens"

  1. Vertigo is the conflict between the fear of falling and the desire to fall. - Salman Rushdie

Also Salman Rushdie kisses Scarlett Johansson in her video for "Falling Down." Her homage to him I think. She's got the guts to portray herself as a bit of fake. Pretty cool. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USiLOQFW3X4

    Just sayin.

Plus I like the highlights in your watercolor, spaces between washes, especially on the rosy butt cheeks. I do pidgeon cartoons every day... a little different than your topic. www.SepiaPainting.com Nice.

  3. Thanks for the comments... I checked out the video clip you mentioned but I couldn't get to Sepiapainting.com. You know what's really wierd, I never thought of my paintings as vertigo but I absolutely love that quote you mentioned, thought and memory! but what's wierd is that I never had vertigo before until today; I had to go to the Dr. for it, she says I have positional vertigo due to a virus. It should only last a few days. Funny how things relate.

  4. Somewhere between falling and dancing - depends on how you view them. They don't seem cold - so perhaps they only need socks, mittens & scarves.
