daisy yellow index card a day

I was not going to join any challenges anymore.... I wanted to just do what I planned to do and not get sidetracked with any new creative ideas since I have too many already ...

but I had already purchased a little notebook of index cards to use as an art journal when i can't carry a big one and i also bought a stack of BRIGHT highlighter pens, hoping that the paper and pens would be less intimidating when i didn't have time for real art supplies.... like when i am sitting in the Mcdonald's drive thru or waiting for my husband somewhere....

And over at Daisy Yellow, they are starting an Index Card a day challenge... so I decided I was doing it anyway, might as well join them. There are so many inspiring little bits of art there... but i don't plan on making messy colorful, wonderful cards with acrylics and paints like I have seen there.... just a little bit of sketching and such...

It starts today but I am posting my last 2 weeks of index cards, and will try to post them weekly or so... if I do manage to create one a day as planned.....

It was so humid, I must have gotten 30 mosquito bites taking these few pictures....

I liked the sneaks so much I did a second pair....

....and I went to buy a third pair, and I got a size 9...... I am a 7 1/2 but the first pair was a mislabeled 9 so I bought another from the same rack thinking it would fit too, but no, it's actually a 9..... sooooo....

if you are an actual size 9 and would like a pair of personalized canvas sneaks, I could do up a pair with your choice of flower and quote for $30.00. One time offer cuz once I am done, I think I will be DONE.

here's where playing with markers led me... I wanted to spend more time and do the same type of face as yesterday, just more detailed, I tried to rework yesterdays but that was a total failure, I can't even show you...... so I tried again  and just spent more time blending while it was still wet, and this is what I got, the colors inspired by my lunch....(which is the theme at Artist's Play room so stop over and check them out or play along if you want)

I would like to make this up in spoonflower fabric and sew the face onto a doll, we'll see if I get that far.

I didn't have a face ready this morning and I knew I would only have about 5 minutes to make one and I couln't find a single watercolor paint here at home, it's all at work Ii think...

.so here's Margaret Sykes. She's in 6th grade and wants to be a floral designer when she grows up. Her grandma wants to go to college with her when she goes, and grandma wants to be an architect!

What do you want to be when you grow up.... I of course want to design tea packages.

Anyway, this is just kids markers on good watercolor paper then I wet it with a brush. I should have done the outlines in permanent marker so they wouldn't bleed as well. And I think i'd be fun to cover it all with bright loud colored pencil. Matbe I'll try that ...
