Every thursday a group of people gather here to share their joy each week....

I just wasn't feeling inspired to do these Everyday matters challenges...Either it was the sketchbook that wouldn't take water... or the subject matter, I don't know. Now that I am back to a new visual journal I am so much happier. I just love being able to add watercolor to my sketches. These first two are Everyday matters challenges ....

 EDM... draw your hand

So now, even though I was in court alot and  I sketched there... at least I am drawing whatever I feel like (which brings me JOY) and adding color !

Come back tomorow... and  I will have a post with  another thing that brings me joy lately.....my rocks...

not loving this moleskin for the last few days

clearly I'm not using this moleskin correctly.... it's made just for writing and I am trying to make it into a watercolor sketchbook.... oh well, I will try to stick to one color sketches, those seem to be best. I loosened up a bit for the "draw a bed" challenge...

 but then I hate this sketch of the Odwalla bottle, it's the gel pens I guess, the red blended so I tried to wet it.... like I said.... "yuk", I'm fighting with myself not to rip it out and burn it.... yuk again!

 I like this "draw a piece of your jewelry" better. I kept it simple. This is a necklace I've had a long time....

Then just so I wouldn't hate myself I had to do a zentangle, cause they almost always work out well...so this is for the Iamthediva challenge and includes another heart for AyalaArt. The problem is ... I don't really like this either....

Ah well, there's always tomorow....

summer of color

The inspiration colors this week were wild and reckless  sherbert so here's the mandala I ended up with.... the colors somehow made me think of peacock feathers so here goes....

 
 oh and I have a page of EDM sketches in my new moleskin notebook. The pages are so thin there will be no watercolor and even these scrapbooking pens show thru on the other side of the page so maybe I will glue pages together to make them thicker. I just don't feel like going back to pencil...
the challenges were to sketch a lamp, your mug and a purse or bag. I went alittle overboard on the detail of my leather bag , I'll try to loosen up on the next one...
