come foraging with me

This time I coaxed my family into trying daylilly buds....I found a bunch of instructions on the internet, all about the same so I won't give you any particular link for a recipe... I just cut off the buds, washed them, added them with some of my chopped fresh picked chives, butter and  a sprinkling of garlic powder to a frying pan with oil, and cooked them for just a few minutes till browning. I liked them better than the rest of my family, but overall they were a hit as people took second helpings after their initial taste.

success!

  2. My dad always grew tiger lilies next to the house all the years when we were growing up but I never would have thought to eat the buds. If they took seconds those had to be pretty good. :)
