vacation photos

so sorry if you hate to look at other peoples vacation photos as I have a bunch for you. It was a wet week, tons of rain and for some reason my son never managed to adjust, he was either sick or just anxious... hard to tell which as he still doesn't communicate that kind of thing.... all he wanted to do was walk... we hiked 5 miles a day to keep him content, well as content as he could be. We'd had soooo much rain that hiking the trails to the pond was like walking in creek beds....

walking, more walking
then even more walking too
blisters by weekend

happy Friday to all you Haiku my heart people....

Most of my photos don't show how lush and wet and green everything was.... so much moss and ferns!

and if you're still with me I do have some art to show for paint party Friday and the last week of Color of Summer....

I thought it was done but now that I see it on here it definitely needs something more.... i'll get on that once it cools down a bit, it's too hot to function the last few days.... have a good week all!

  1. I enjoyed seeing your vacation photos. The fawn with its mother is so precious. We think our lady deer are having their little ones. It's been a month since we've seen any deer. Getting concerned. Your photos show such a peaceful area. I know it was a soul restoring time.

  2. Your photos are great! First of all, they're photos. That you took them while "on vacation" doesn't make them any less appealing. Love the close up of the Momma and fawn., and those are some fancy sandals! Are those your little tootsies?
Your art made me have the idea that she is forlorn. The look on her face. That was my first immediate impression, then as i looked into her eyes, her pupils seem dilated a bit, and the turn of her mouth is telling me she is about to make some wise crack. It's all in my imagination and has nothing whatsoever to do with your beautiful artwork.
Your haiku told the story that you told about the rain and all the walking/hiking you did. I'll bet you're in good shape after all that exercise.
    Have a great week.

    Peace sent your way.

  3. Gorgeous place to stay for vacation!! What do you mean, I LOVE coming along :). With the greens like that, I would grab my sketchbook, sit underneath the tall trees in the forest, pretend to be Beatrix Porter and sketch to no end, LOL.

LOVE your watercolor art, so graceful and so light :). Beautiful mandala, framing the girl :).

  4. Looks like a peaceful place to vacation, even in the rain. It has rained here every day for a month, but it always does this time of year. Water is so precious, I don't even complain any more. Well...usually not LOL Your watercolor is awesome!
