Another 100 day project

Last year it was #100days of joyous watercolor.....

This year it is #100daysofcharacterplay....

And then last but not least... here’s a pic of the latest hashtag going around Instagram.... to surround a selfie with all your art. I had to join in. It has been really fun seeing all the other artist play along as they all seem to fit the art they create!

Have a good week everybody!!!!

It’s been awhile

Sorry I have been absent from my blog for a few weeks.... I have been creating though....

Just have to have florals every so often.....

This one above was just playing....there is a touch of gold there in the star!

After I did this one above, I started thinking about making the birds out of felt, or printed on spoonflower fabric to be embroidered over in bright rainbow colors.... yet to happen but now it is on my to do list.

And for this one above, I was playing with what to use as props for flat lays..... I made a huge list of potential props but I won’t subject you to my list unless someone requests it. Instagram is big on flatlays with props so I am trying to up my instagram game!

And since the above watercolor was based around making a design that was so sweet it gave you a toothache, I decided to use candy in the flat lay...

And last but not least, another insomnia circle.

Another week flew by cutely and quickly

I usually have big plans for an elaborate post but then before I know it Friday is here and I haven’t created it..... same thing each week. But I always have so much art I have created that there is always plenty to show.  This time I am picking from my cuter stuff.....

Lately when doodling I intentionally tried to make the characters that I usually create younger and cuter. My goal was to go with bigger heads, smaller bodies, chubbier arms and legs. It is something to continue to work on but I think I like them better this way.... but there’s a cute house and a cute guinea pig thrown in for good measure....

Have a cute weekend!!!!!!!

Missing the river

I can’t get down to the water with all the snow we’ve had so I am missing the river lately. Instead I have been enjoying painting river rocks! The first two pieces shown are 6x8 and have already sold but the third is larger and will be listed on my Etsy shop soon.

They are pretty much painted exclusively with hand crafted watercolors. It is so easy to paint a rock when you are using colors ground from rocks!!!! Not by me, of course, but by redwood willow and by rivervalewatercolors. I normally get bored with subject matter easily but I think I could paint rocks forever.
