more rocks

Since I have been spending my time at the river and have been playing with rocks, I decided to  paint some of them. First I sketched some ideas in my sketchbook...
the first rocks are painted in guache and watercolor, and the patterns are put on in highlighter pen and black sharpie....

The next ones are painted in payne's gray watercolor, and the details are painted with white guache and a liner pen...

then I started on the rocks. I am really enjoying this so there will be more....

River rocks in piles.

My head is swirling with rocks.

A new obsession.

Happy paint party friday and haiku my heart, and artists play room!

  1. I love the rocks and stones. They are the Grandmothers and Grandfathers you know. They have been around for all time and have seen everything that mankind has done. They have all the wisdom we might desire. Hold them in your hand and ask them what you need to, they will answer. They will take your problems and troubles from you and carry them beyond the Star Nation. To have a reverence for the rocks is a good thing. I am pleased for you.
Your art work is very very good!
Your haiku heralding this idea is pleasing as well.
