decorating

Been spending my creative energy on decorating at work... trying to cover ugly gray cubicle panels with cheap stuff to look festive for thanksgiving... we bought plastic tablecloths for $1 and i made little swags of bittersweet, pine, dried oak leaves, a few silk fall leaves and the painted pods from this tree below, (again, i don't know the name of this tree)... turned out pretty good for cheap, you'd agree if you saw the walls before we started...

 Happy Thanksgiving!

Newfield Covered bridge

When I drive to my oldest daughter's apartment about 2 hours from where we live, there's a town we pass through with a covered bridge. It was, according to the sign, built in 1853 and is the oldest covered bridge in daily use.
You can DRIVE through it!
Now usually the people I am with, (my other kids) do not especially care about this.
 I find it incredible!!!!
So I go about 2 minutes out of my way to stop,
 take photos,
then drive through,
turn around,
and drive back through.
Usually this is to the moans and groans of the people in the car.
This trip, as my other daughter needed a cigarette break,
(I know, terrible habit and she's trying to quit)
she and my son allowed me to do this in good cheer.

a quick sketch

This is not even a note book I sketch in,
it is just a playing card size one I carry in my purse for lists.
(YES... i CAN"T live without lists)
but I got sidetracked while on the phone and started sketching the little fox on my desk and  she ended up looking at a gift.
( I am sure the gift appeared because we had 3 birthdays last week in my house)

I am still linking this to art everyday month even though it's not my art. because I think browsing etsy can be a very creative thing to do...
it's very inspiring and actually creating these collages in photoshop is  like making art...
I had to struggle to learn it but it is fun once you get the hang of it....

another day

yesterday I was playing for a bit in my tiny sketchbook again...

that's the only one I can seem to do anything in this month. But it's a good one to try things out in since the paper is not expensive watercolor. My more expensive sketchbook I can't bring myself to just experiment in, they seem to precious.

one of these just led to another and another....

they are just watercolor crayons and then white acrylic ink...

Have a Happy today!

linking to inspire me monday and creative everyday, both inspiring places to visit.....
