I don't know how it got to be friday again so soon....

I did finish some art this week even though it flew by... In goldenrod, amber, or honey...
Whatever you like to call this color.

I really love this one particular zentangle, Mooka, that i used around the edges...but i alter it a bit from the official way of doing it. I think it was created by Maria, the founder of zentangles, who called it her "go to tangle".  It is named after Alphonse Mucha, who's art i have always loved. It looks so like art nouveau when you use a lot of it. I was staring at my mandala wall at work, as i tend to do too often, drifting off into a vegetative state now and then.... And i realized i put this tangle into almost half my mandalas. I can almost not  help myself from using it.

Ideas ideas ideas, floating around my head just like circles on my wall.

Then i used the same color and tangle again for hair....

A woman that i work with said they remind her of the spirograph toy she had as a kid, and i had been thinking the same thing myself days before. If i still had one, drawing the basic mandala shape would be so much easier.. I loved my Spirograph. I also loved kaleidoscopes of all kinds, i still do. So I guess my art hasn't changed so very much after all these years.

  13. Yes, I had one of those spirographs, too....though I think I only used it a few times.

Your zentangles are so neat....but I don't think I have the patience. Funny how we are who we were when we were younger....haha!

  27. ANDREA!!! I love these! The colors and I too, love that particular tangle. I am just so inspired by your art. I also wish that I had my old spirograph... I bet it is still to be found somewhere, I must go looking... And I wish, lots of wishes and too's here today!, that you too could come and dance with me Thursday morning in my labyrinth! But where ever you are on Valentines Day... we can dance, and our spirals will spin out, and cross in waves just like your beautiful art!
