I did finish some art this week even though it flew by... In goldenrod, amber, or honey...
Whatever you like to
call this color.
I really love this one particular zentangle, Mooka, that i used around the edges...but i alter it a bit from the official way of doing it. I think it was created by Maria, the founder of zentangles, who called it her "go to tangle". It is named after Alphonse Mucha, who's art i have always loved. It looks so like art nouveau when you use a lot of it. I was staring at my mandala wall at work, as i tend to do too often, drifting off into a vegetative state now and then.... And i realized i put this tangle into almost half my mandalas. I can almost not help myself from using it.
Ideas ideas ideas, floating around my head just like circles on my wall.
Then i used the same color and tangle again for hair....
A woman that i work with said they remind her of the spirograph toy she had as a kid, and i had been thinking the same thing myself days before. If i still had one, drawing the basic mandala shape would be so much easier.. I loved my Spirograph. I also loved kaleidoscopes of all kinds, i still do. So I guess my art hasn't changed so very much after all these years.
