Giveaway!

Hello all, here are some photos from my week, and just a bit about what I have been doing....
I am immersed in Downton Abbey, i am watching marathons of it to see all the 3 seasons and i love it!
NovaKodah is growing fast, up to 14 pounds, the vet thinks he's not all miniature husky, but maybe some chow too. Who knows, but it really doesn't matter... he's just soooo cute!

I am planning on putting these custom rocks on my etsy... once I get a little nest made of needlefelting or a pouch sewn up. These are my words of the year, for last year, this year and next year. They sit on my desk at work in this little hummingbird nest I found...

I am listening to Of monsters and men, love them too...
I have been playing with all my little bits and pieces of beach pottery, and scheming and planning....

Small bits and pieces

each a tiny dream maker

time machines or more

And..... I have been offered a giveaway by Craftsy... just click on this..... link .......to enter and then leave a comment here that you would like a chance for a free art class ...
I am also trying an art class through them and I will let you know all about it soon...

I am also going camping soon... I can't wait. We go the same place every year to make it easier for my son, but we all love it there too!

If you want to see my latest mandala click on this pic..
See you in a few weeks!

hello

Hopefully you all at Paint Party Friday and Haiku my Heart can forgive me my long absence from posting. I would like to say I used the time to get organized and refreshed and create a ton of art.... but life just doesn't work out so easily. I did get a lot of art done so I do have a lot to show, but I will just post it in bits and pieces so as not to overwhelm...

These pieces were drawn/painted on bits of pottery collected by THEJETTY on the shores of Maine and I purchased them from her shop on etsy.

I normally am inspired by feathers, rocks and flowers, but that week I had been inspired by my recent etsy purchase. I am imagining the life of the bits and pieces i received in the mail, each piece wrapped up in tissue.... To sit and wonder about the 9 lives these items have had already... Someone, somewhere, years ago mixed the clay they were made from. Someone else molded the pots from the clay on a potters wheel, leaning in to push and pull it just so. Then the were used for years in a home, holding all sorts of mixes of breads or cookies, and the may even have traded hands once more before that waiting to be purchased at the market. How they ended up traveling miles away, broken and washed up on the shore, tumbled by the ocean, is a whole other daydream. Then they were found, collected by small hands, packaged up and shipped in the mail miles away again to me, where I  painted on them, made a small nest for them with needlefelting, and listed them in my shop to hopefully move onto even another life....

I will have them in my shop tomorrow and more to come very soon if anyone is interested.

I also showed you a picture of this little guy a few days ago... he is Kodah... right when I was trying to simplify my life... he was at the Walmart parking lot being sold out of a truck. I just went to hold him without planning to buy a dog, as I really didn't need another dog or anything else to take care of right now, but he really, almost literally spoke to me and said "you need me... I need you" so I listened and brought him home. He is the best dog ever and I am not really even a dog lover... I always favored cats more, till now!

Jumping Puppy Love
He just can't control himself
Gotta bounce then sleep

I had planned to show a sketch I did of Kodah and yet I can't find the photo of it or the sketch... so much for organization... it'll have to wait for later... so anyway, have a good week everyone! it's good to be back!

This morning, when i woke up I felt good...
the absence of pain...even small pain... when it's gone it feels even better than before you had pain....
how good that feels even if for a liuttle bit since last week's surgery...

I so here's my story today...i always crave time alone.
i can't remember the last time I was alone IN my house...
years honestly
but this time i am not complaining...

I had expected to be alone this week since the kids would be working or at school and I would be lounging on the couch...
it didn't work out that way, there was early dismissal due to parent teacher conferences, 2 days my youngest was home sick and I have had help in and out...
and the thing is I have been fine with that! Glad of the help actually...

help from my mom...

Homemade granola
warm when it was delivered
Yummy and healing

flowers from friends...

and from my daughter, the ring...well... even if it was just because she cleaned her room and didn't know what else to do with it...

I still wore it and had this quiet moment when i was laying on the couch doing nothing except listenng to her in her room listening to dave matthews band. it was nice.

My mother in law has checked on me, I have had my daughter and her new tiny puppy, Starburst...to help.

And whenever my youngest tries to climb on me which is what he does; either my husband or my older son or someone is right there to help and distract my youngest with wrestling to protect me. My husband has cooked great meals, but then he always does that...
i am lucky!

And if you all want to be super nice...you will take the time to go vote for the fabric i created using cut paper over at spoonflower. I have been cutting  up paint chips and arranging them and photographing them and then color changing and altering using their programs, (II watched a tutorial on the site to help me learn how!) and i made this.

It will be available for sale once I order a sample, and now it is entered in their weekly contest. click here to see it as fabric. and Click here to get to the link to vote, I will warn you ...you have to scroll thru all 20 pages before it will let you vote, but hey, you'll do it for me, right?

Thanks a million, if i keep with the fabric thing awhile maybe I will order some and have a giveaway soon. Maybe after next week, for Thanksgiving my house will get even fuller as my oldest will be home from college and she's bringing her new pet too... a kitty named dirty popcorn. I haven't seen the kitty yet, we will have to wait and see how these two new pets get along with out 2 older cats, Tyronne and BobDole.  It will be a full house...
Thanks for voting!
I am headed back to the couch...
