Birds

This week i switched from monsters to birds. I bought these little plaques weeks or months ago thinking i would carve them into a relief of a bird or a child. That didn't work so well, the wrong type of wood i am told.

So i painted birds instead.

Then they didn't look complete without pattern behind them.

They still don't look "completely" complete to me so i am planning to glue down a small patch of some sweet tiny print fabric to just a small spot along the frame where it is now painted black.

Happy PPF!

  2. They ARE gorgeous! And here's what I love most. . . every artist/crafter has had those same wooden plaques in their stash somewhere and we all bought them thinking we would do this or that with them. . . wood burning, landscape bases, found 3D collage etc etc but you have taken them and even when they didn't work as you first envisioned, made absolutely lovely and inspired art with them! :) THAT is an accomplishment in and of itself!!!

  5. Every artist is their own worst critic and so you think they don't look finished ... but, I think they look awesome just as they are. That is not to say that a fabric frame wouldn't be nice, but, to me, not necessary. If you were me and could only draw marginal stick figures, you would understand just how talented you really are :) Beautifully done, Andrea ...
