I haven't been to Cape Cod in years, or the beach at all actually. I miss it and have felt in need of a vacation so I am taking a virtual one. I googled CapeCod spots and here are some picks I took from the internet. I think I may have been in these spots, they seem familiar...
This lighthouse is in Provincetown, we probably were there as we went to a lot of lighthouses...
plus here are some pics from the last time we went......(over 30 years ago)
me and my brother
and some rocks I painted to remind me of the ocean...
Remembering sand,
salt water smell, lobster shacks,
kite shops in P-Town

Happy PPF & haiku my heart!
Very cool photos, both the old and the new ones from the virtual trip. Were you painting rocks 30 years ago? I wasn't sure about Haiku My Heart today as Rebecca and others are in Mexico, but I finally did a Haiku post as it has been quite a while since I joined the human race. Love your paintings. Hope all is well.
ReplyDeletePeace
love those rocks..great photos too...its all cold and wintry rain here
ReplyDeleteWonderful rock painting and story!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea, a virtual holiday - I may use that idea myself.
ReplyDeleteIt may be time for a real road trip - although your virtual one is a great idea. I don't live on the beach but I do live on an island and am surrounded by intracoastal waterways. The beach is not far and there is very little traffic and no tolls (unlike when I lived in NY). Those painted rocks are quite lovely.
ReplyDeleteThose rocks are so beautiful, looks like nature herself marked them! <3
ReplyDeletelovely photos and your painted rocks are intricate and beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful this remembering and the rocks as touchstones... Thank you for taking us along with you on this virtual trip!
ReplyDeleteI loved your reminiscing about the shore....something I dearly love and never take for granted. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI was in Mystic, CT over 40 years ago. Oh how I wish I had more pictures from that time. Alas, I had not discovered my love of the camera yet and the few pictures I do have are so deeply buried, even several hunts have not seen them surface. It would be a dream to go back again sometime.
ReplyDeleteYour rocks look like delicious candy.
ReplyDeletewow, what a delightful place this must be! I'm happy you shared.
ReplyDeleteLove the ocean memory rocks. What a sweet virtual vacation and loved the old photo. :)
