feeling poetic

hello,
i want to apologize for my absence lately from blog land....
i have a million excuses and none
I just didn't have much to say for awhile...

I've been waiting in the wings
the wings of a blackbird
waiting for the colors of dusk
gathering shadows from the
snow filled ditches...

My mandalas are changing,
Less color... I was and am inclined to add every color available as i paint but i don't like the look when they are done... So i decided to try to keep it simple and paint something i actually might want to look at later.

Rythmically complex
One color saturated
Self satisfying

I use my fingers to tap out syllables when i write haiku...

Also, i feel the need to change my blog and etsy shop so the falling ladies will be leaving for good.... I need a makeover for the New Year!

Thanks for stopping by and forgiving me for not visiting lately!

  1. I know you must change things up a bit from time to time, but I want you to know that I simply love the falling ladies. It drew me here in the first place.
I also tap out the syllables of my haiku. Like minds.
The color trap, I call it. A slave to where your mind might be right now. This is blue. Any correlation? Will Spring bring forth another color? Is the sky that slated gray pall as well this time of year? That's what I see out my window.
    Love the haiku.

    Peace

  28. I've been absent a lot lately too, but I had to stop by to tell you that I shared one of your falling ladies with one of my students yesterday. She had painted a mermaid and the expression on her face looked so much like one of your paintings to me, I just had to tell you! I'll be blogging it tomorrow if you want a peek......
And as always, I LOVE your mandalas- full of color or not, they are always incredible. LOVE them!
