It's a little late in the day but it's still friday so I made it in time for paint party friday and maybe early for Ilustration friday, for me at least...I didn't get too much finished but I started alot more. I can't even sleep at night I have so many ideas in my head and not enough time to make them, I have scraps of paper everywhere with ideas. I have notebooks half full of ideas , then I try to get organized and I but a new note book and I think that'll help keep me more organized but it only lasts a little while, I have 2 or 3 sketchbooks and 2 or 3 or more journals and, at least only one date book, and I'm reading about 4 books at once, and maybe I should just S l o w down! I did finish one watercolor so that's what I'll show you. It's bigger than my usual, I think it's like 12x17 or something.(I usually do 8x10.) This lady's not as happy as I usually do either, not sure why... I may have to change her lips as she's starting to look to me too annoyed or too "something". The theme for IF is influenced and she, (like me) is influenced by nature. Even when I don't paint nature, that's always a big influence. It's what inspires me, the wind, the peace and serenity in the breeze, the flowers and the water. I just wish I could do all the paintings I have in my head, I'd be a touch more sane.
and here's a quick sketch I did at the creek of some rocks....
and because I didn't finish any needlefelting or sewing but my daughter did again, here's her creations...
They are just sooo ugly cute, Of course, they're available in her shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/barefootbananas?ref=ss_profile
Have a great week everybody!
Andrea, your work is lovely. I think the lady is pouting, but maybe she's pondering something. I also sometimes have trouble sleeping. And when I do, I often wake up realizing I was doing art in my dreams.
ReplyDeleteShe's got her lips pursed, like she's thinking of something ... like she's watching the clouds and wishing she could be up there too.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had journals full of ideas!
I forgot to say that I think the owls with the button eyes are so cute.

You've been a busy lady...love all of your wonderful work...Beautiful watercolor and the sketch very cool too! POP ART MINIS
ReplyDeleteSo many great projects! The rocks came out great, i love pencil sketches. I love those sunflowers!
ReplyDeleteHiya,
ReplyDeleteI was hoping you'd say that: her lips seem just a touch too petulant. Such a lovely painting, but the lips lord it overal.
Your paintings are beautiful but I really love the sketches of the rocks. They are so full of texture. The owls are super sassy. Love them.
ReplyDeletenice work this week, I love your rocks.
ReplyDeleteAndrea ~ you are so talented ~ I know the feeling about ideas and organization ~ thanks for sharing your thoughts ~ love it! thanks ~ namaste, Carol ~ Happy PPF
ReplyDeleteLOVE all of it especially your sunflower girl- to me, she doesn't look annoyed so much as contemplative......anyway, I really like it!
ReplyDeleteI just love your work Andrea. I wonder what she is thinking about and why she is pouting? She darling. I think your daughter's work is great too. How fun that she is creative like you. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if it is about to storm and that iis why she is pouting? She is sort of looking up. Or maye a bird just dropped something on her - that would do it!
ReplyDeleteLove the river/creek rocks - we are on the same "page" this week!
I love the rocks, and your daughter is very clever!
ReplyDeleteI love you lady's hat (and the sunflowers are perfect for this week's PPF)!
ReplyDeleteGreat rock sketches and your daughter's owls are fantastic :)

My goodness, you are on a fabulous creative roll! Your rock sketch is great as are all your other pieces. Your daughter's owls are very sweet. :-)
ReplyDeleteLove your ladies, and your rocks are awesome, too. You seem to be a creative family judging by what your junior made, too! Greetings from Kaiserswerth in Rhineland, Valerie
ReplyDeleteThat is gorgeous! I love her face with that little pout. :) And sunflowers are my favorite. Great sketch of the rocks, too. :)
ReplyDeleteawesome work! I love the rocks! :-)
ReplyDeleteI agree with the others - she seems to be pursing her lips in thought....it's an unusual expression, which is a good thing! Her hat and the sunflowers are so great! You sound like me - too many ideas; it's hard to focus on one long enough to finish it well! I want to try it all! :)
ReplyDeleteYour rock sketch is fab! I'm heading out camping today and will keep my eyes open for a pile of rocks to practice my sketching! Looks like a great way to practice value.
Perhaps a beautiful butterfly that was sitting on the sunflowers just flew away and she's disappointed about that!
ReplyDeleteOh my!! She is absolutely beautiful..what a stunning piece and LOVE the sunflower power...so magical...love it!!This looks like it is fomr a beautiful move or story about the unfold!!
ReplyDeleteLovely!
Happy PPF!
And thankyou for your awesome words and comments!!
Victoria
I really like your ladies pouty lips, they give her a wonderful expression. I also have scraps of ideas everywhere and several sketch books going on at once. And I usually read 3 or 4 books at a time as well!
ReplyDeleteHer sunhat and the sunflowers seem to compliment each other perfectly in a way I can't describe but works wonderfully. Great painting! Your sketch is great - the rock formations/arrangements create a lovely interesting pattern effect.
ReplyDeleteLove your daughters owls - they're fab! I'll go visit her shop.
Kat :-)
oh no don't change her lips! they are great :) I love it that she has that wondering look. like maybe wondering if it's going to rain for her sunflowers.
ReplyDeleteI am too much like you, with a zillion paintings and ideas in my head that have yet to get out. At least you're putting them down on something! I don't always sketch it out and then sadly, it leaves me or the memory fades. So good that you have so many books! But on the other hand slowing down is a good idea too. less mistakes that way, I've found :)
cute owls!
xx Jaime
Maybe she's deciding if she's going to plant more sunflowers next year.
ReplyDeleteShe seems like a young girl...her eyes look vulnerable and disappointed I feel she's pouting because of her disappointment!! Isn't art wonderful for that!!!Love her!
ReplyDeleteHugs Giggles
